Thankful November #8 Thankful Walk

Thankful November #8

As I've pursued the habit of daily thanking God for the myriads of gifts that He's pouring out all around me, I've been encouraging my children to do that same. One day towards the beginning of September, in effort to encourage that habit in all of us, we went on a "thankful walk". We went out into the beautiful day, camera in hand, with the express purpose of finding things that we could be thankful for. It was so fun and encouraging to watch the kids catch on and join in "oh mommy! I'm thankful for that tree!" (Chloe) or "Mom, I'm thankful for rocks!" (Colton)
Here are the things we found that we were able to take pictures of:
Trees!

Acorns!

Chloe: "Mommy, I'm thankful for this plant!"

The park!
Swings!!!
If Drew could talk he would say "swings!" too!

Drew!
Rocks!
Colton
The beautiful green and the sun and the shadows!
Chloe! The playground!
Grass!
All of us together!
Yellow, heart shaped leaves!
Our home!!

I did not take this picture- but we did see one of these! Colton spotted it darting around a flower and said "Ooo mom! I'm thankful for hummingbirds!" It wouldn't let us get close enough for a picture but it looked just like this! Beautiful! And even though it's actually a moth, it does fly like a humming bird and is similar in size to one also
