A much needed get-away

You know how "they" say that its good for husbands and wives to get away "alone together", well I'd have to completely agree with "them". Brian and I were able to go away for two days right before we moved and it was oh so very nice!! Especially with how busy we've been packing and getting ready for the move. Here's some pics of our adventures, ENJOY!

There was a path that went right by our hotel that led right out to Avila Beach, we roller bladed out and spent most of the morning and afternoon out there.

There was a string of fun shops and restaurants that faced the beach.

After an amazingly yummy lunch of fish tacos, we got some icecream and explored the pier.
down near the end of the pier we found these stairs that went down...
....to a walkway, and then went down...
...two more times, to two different landings closer to the water. Brian almost went down to the lowest one when a wave came up and covered it in about 6 inches of water.

Enjoying the beautiful view and each others company.

Finishing up my ice cream while Brian set up the camera.

Sigh! I love this guy!

Thought the clouds coming over those hills were pretty!
One of our nights there, Brian took me out to nice place for dinner. We dressed up and everything. It kinda made it feel extra fancy and special. We got amazingly yummy shrimp gumbo as an appetizer and then Fish for our main course. Brian got Salmon, and I got "Sand Dabs" (which are a white fish) on a bed of potato cake and spinach with a pesto type sauce. It was quite tasty! Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of that part of our trip :(

On our way home we stopped and went on an hour long horse back ride. It was quite fun and went through some beautiful scenery! Isn't this guy cute!?

Our "trail guide" led us out along the beach...
...though these grassy hills...
...and out to these amazing sand dunes. Brian was so sweet. He looked back often to make sure I was still there... or hadn't fallen off my horse... or maybe he was afraid I would just ride my horse of on my own. (to be honest I did wish that i could:)

We were told that these dunes are where they filmed the dessert scene in Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

This is my horse: Rooster
