I wanted to share the story of Gods great provision of the cutest little home in world. When we first started scouting out homes in the Lincoln area on craigslist we quickly saw that there were many three bedroom options in the 700 dollar range, which is a huge difference from the 1050 we pay curently for our two bedroom apartment. BUUUUT... Once we got to Lincoln and really started looking and driving to several of these "three bedrooms in the 700 dollar range" we quickly discovered that there was a reason they were priced low, and began to think that we probably might have to just look for a two bedroom in that price range. I had kinda got my hopes up, and my heart set on a three bedroom, but I wanted to be open to Gods perfect will, so with lots of prayer we broadened our horizons to include two bedrooms. Brian's interview was Friday, so by the time he got back from that and lunch with the company managers and owner there wasn't much left to that day. We did some driving around a looking over the weekend, but felt that we couldn't make much progress with it being the weekend and no one really answering their phones. So, since we were flying home Tuesday, we pretty much had monday to house hunt. We went out in the mid-morning hours and looked at a few places. Some really small, some that would work, but all two bedrooms. Still my heart was pleading with the Lord to provide something that would make the move just a little more exciting and a bit easier. I don't know if that makes any sense... I just knew that my heart was going to go through a lot of pain and turmoil packing up and saying goodbye to so many dear family and friends, and somehow I felt that it all might be a little easier if I could really look forward to moving in and decorating the home we were headed to. Anyway, we headed back to Nathan and Kristin's for lunch and made plans to do some more driving around looking in the afternoon. After lunch Brian got back on craigslist to see if anything new had popped up. Brian made a new list and prepared to head out the door for one last look. Right before we walked out the door Brian checked craiglist one last time and noticed a new little three bedroom duplex had just been put up. He jotted down the address and we headed out. After that everything moved so quickly it was amazing!!
About 3:00 we decided to go drive by the little duplex. We got to it, looked at the outside of it (tried to look in some windows) liked what we saw, then called someone who is very familiar with Lincoln to find out what the neighborhood was like. Once we heard from him that it was a nice quiet neighborhood with mostly working class citizens, we called the owner. The owner told Brian he had scheduled with someone to show it at 3:30 so he'd just head over now and show it to us first.
3:15ish: The owner got there and opened the house up for us so that we could walk through and I fell in love :) It's not huge by any means but felt so open and new! I was trying not to get to excited about it and set my hopes on it too much in case it wasn't what the Lord had planned for us. But I really liked it! We told the owner we were very interested but that Brian wouldn't be starting work until Feb 20th. He said he was fine with that, but it would be easiest for him if we could start paying rent on the 15th. We told him that would be very doable. He gave us applications and we went on our way.
4:00ish we were back at Nathan and Kristin's and filling out the aps. While we were doing that the owner called Brian back and asked if we were really interested in the place cause if so he really wanted us to have it. Brian told him we were working on the applications right then and that he would bring them back and put them in the rent drop box as soon as we were done with them.
4:40ish We finished the applications and Brian delivered them.
The next day on our way to the airport the owner called Brian again and told him that our background checks had passed that we got the duplex, he told him that out of all the people he had showed it to he wanted us to have it! Woo hooo! It was so comforting, not only to know that we had a home waiting for us when we head back in a little under a month but that the Lord so obviously picked it out and saved it for us!
HERE IT IS!

| We didn't have our camera when we looked at the place but I snagged this pic off the craigslist ad. |
