Our trip to Corn-country

Well, we're back from our trip to Corn-country. Brian's interview with Voss Lighting went really well and they offered him the job. We weren't incredibly surprised, since they put out a lot of money to get all of us there, but there's still just kind of a feeling of unreality at this point. When Brian first told me he got the job I didn't really know what I was thinking or feeling, I think the Lord the was just helping me moderate all emotions for the present until I could process everything. Now I'm very distracted from thinking about all of the sad goodbyes coming our way by the large job of packing up our home. Yikes! Where does one start!? But I'll have to save that for another post. This post is mostly about our trip to Nebraska, my (and our kiddos) first foray into the flat-lands of our great country, also known as "the Midwest" "Heartland" and "The Grain Belt." just to name a few.
Colton, but especially Chloe loved the airplane ride! Chloe made it very obvious that she found it to be a great and exciting adventure. Here's just a few of the things she said and the conversations we had.
During some rather bumpy turbulence: "Weeeeee! yay! It's like a fun ride!"
A bit later during the same turbulence, she noticed the creaking of the cabin:
Chloe: "Mom, is it breaking?"
Me: "no, its just bending a little"
Chloe: "but, when it bends, it breaks."
Looking down at the land below as we "began our descent":
Me: "Chloe look, those are cows."
Chloe: "Where i don't see them."
Me: "yeah, they're kinda hard to see. They're still pretty tiny."
Chloe: (in a highpitched voice) "aaaawwwww! BAY-BEE cows!"
Several times when we were cruising along Chloe would get very worried and we had several conversations that went something like this:
Chloe: "Mom, why are we moving?"
Me: "We are Chloe, we're flying through the air, it's just hard to tell cause there's nothing passing us." Which must be hard for her little brain to wrap around because her answer was usually something like.
Chloe: "But, why aren't we moving!?"
All in all it was a good trip. We got to stay with Nathan and Kristin and see their new home. They were very helpful in watching our kiddos while we house hunted. (Another story I'll save for another blog post)
Here's a few pictures I got of our adventure.

What do you do with a 4 hour layover at an airport? Find a comfy chair and watch a movie of course!

Colton was so very good on all our flights. He kept busy, playing with Dad and flirting with any lady near him.

Our "welcome to Nebraska" gifts from Nathan and Kristin.

While we were there we saw some old friends the O'Neal family. They're oldest daughter Piper is just a little younger than Chloe. As you can see, they hit it off right away.

My tired little traveler.

Sadly, as I often do, I failed to get camera out that much while we were in Nebraska :( But, thankfully, Auntie Kristin was diligent to take some, YAY!! So here's some of hers.
Much to Chloe's delight it snowed while we were there!

Chloe and Auntie Kristin

My crazy little boy needs a haircut!

It didn't end up being too cold so he didn't have to wear it hardly at all, but this is the coat that Kristin borrowed for Colton to wear.

Aw! They're so cute!!

Yeah I know. We look tired! Thats kind of a constant state lately... at least for me.
