Mother's day... have to admit i don't really know the background on how this day came about, or who decided that such a day should exist. But, I'm thankful for it! When I was young, it was a special day because we got to treat Mom extra special, give her gifts, flowers or notes. She always acted like we gave her the greatest treasure ever, no matter how big or small. Now, I'm the Mommy... I'm the one getting showered with the gifts and flowers and pictures. But that in and of itself wasn't what made this day special for me. Do i enjoy an excuse to get presents and go out to lunch?
Absolutely! But it was the people that surrounded me that made this day special. My thoughts and prayers and praises to the Lord that day were filled with thanksgiving for, and reflection on, the lives that i touch daily as i live.
| Brian Casebolt. my husband, my love, my best friend. It goes without
saying that I wouldn't be a mommy without him. I think it's also safe to
say that I wouldn't be a sane mommy without him. His helpful, compassionate, kind, gentle, loving heart is such a treasure to me! |
| Chloe Elizabeth Casebolt. Our giggly, fun, song-filled little girl. I
can't imagine life without her! She cheers me up, humbles me, tries my
patience and makes me laugh at regular intervals. |
Our little "Baby Jo" in heaven. Our "perfect" one. Sinless, and serving before the throne of the God who began the "knitting" process and then in His perfect sovereignty chose to make the little bud bloom fully. We look forward to the day when we will
SEE and meet this precious little one, for the first time.
| Colton Wayne Casebolt. Our happy, stubborn, smiley little guy. He wears
me out by the end of the day, but I love the times when he throws
his arms around my neck and says "wuuuuuv!" He already shows signs of
being very much like his Daddy, and I'm so very thankful! |
| Our newest little blessing. So many wiggles and bumps and a protruding
belly are constantly reminding me that we will soon add another person,
voice, heart, soul into our little family. I think, because
of the fact that we were not planning to add another little one as soon
as the Lord decided we would, I'm reminded even more so how He
plans each life that He brings to this world and that this little one is
being made for a purpose. What will this one be like? We shall soon
find out! |
It's those people that made this day special, in reality they make every day special. I guess even more so, what made this day special was the reflecting on them. On the huge gifts and responsibilities they are. On the role i play in their lives and the ways that i could do a better job of fulfilling that role.
So as I dwelt on these precious people, I kind of took a lot of pictures of them. But I know that you love pictures! So here ya go!
| Colton was still getting over a cough, so he and i stayed home from church. We decided to get out and get some fresh air though, so we went to the park to swing! |
| He loves the swing! |
| He found this flower, but only showed it to me when I asked to see it. |
| This flower he brought to me! |
| My special happy Mothers day from my little Colton |
| "Hey! That's poky!" |
| heh! I just thought this face was cute. Not sure whats going on in his head. |
| All little boys need sticks! |
| Chloe went to church with Brian and came home with a little potted flower and card that she had decorated! |
| My Mothers day presents! Chloe helped wrap them AND wrote her name on them! |
| My sweet husband took me out to lunch AND did most of the work for dinner! |
| "smile!" |
| Goofy kid! "no how bout a real smile!" |
| There's that smile I see everyday! |
| "You didn't need this anymore did you Mom?" |
| One of my Mothers day gifts! I've been wanting one of these so much! There are so many beautiful birds that we've seen, now I can look them up! |
There was one more oh so special gift that my sweet husband and daughter got for me, but one part of it had to be ordered. SO, when that part comes, I'll put up pictures of that. In the mean time, you'll just have to be horribly curious. :D
| Mmmmm! My sweet husband (who can't even stand the smell of this "stuff") let me get a watermelon! |
| Me and my Chloe! |
| Chloe took this picture!! |
