HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the mommies that might read this post! God has blessed us with the most WONDERFULLY HARD job!! (is that proper english?) Hasn't He? I'm constantly reminded how impossible it is to do without HIS grace. Seek the LORD through his word and much prayer. Lean on Him. Remember: the greatest thing you can give your children is the GOSPEL! Don't worry about trying to save them, that's GODS job. Your job is to teach them about HIM and live the truth of the gospel before them. I know, I know! Easier said than done! But, it does simplify things doesn't it?
Here's a good quote for you regarding the aim of Motherhood"
"You fulfill yourself by denying yourself, preparing the people you can’t live without to live without you"
Here's a recent passage of scripture that was shared with me as a "Parenting verse". No, the context of this verse is not parenting, but think about it with "Motherhood" in mind:
2 Timothy 2:24-26
"But the LORDS servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do him to do his will."
Well, that's all i have for now. I'll let my hubby say a few words... :) (because I borrowed his Facebook status :D).
"Prov. 31:28 Thankful for my mother today, who I will most definitely call "blessed". Love ya Jan Dolson Casebolt! As I was reminded in Church today, you and Monty Casebolt
were faithful with entrusting the Gospel of our Savior to your
children. I pray that I will be as good a parent, by God's grace, as
you! Also, from the same Proverbs 31 verse, I just have to "praise" my
lovely bride! Josi Casebolt, you're, by God's grace, a good faithful mother yourself! AND I LOVE YOU!!!"
