Thankful Thursday

Thankfulness... Why is it that its so easy to dwell in a state of unthankfulness? Or at least in a state of not being actively thankful? My mind goes to Romans 1:21 where Paul is talking about people who reject God, he takes the time to point out that "even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks..."

God deserves to be thanked, as much as He deserves to be honored. He created us and everything we have is from him.
James 1:17 "Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with  whom there is no variation or shifting shadow."
So, i think its very safe to say that thankfulness is not just one of those things that "i really should do more" but that I'm actually sinning, living in a dishonoring way before the Lord, when i choose to not be thankful.

Thankfuls
-The things I'm learning as I go through the book of Philippians.
-Sunday- the opportunity to watch seven young people from our church publicly profess their faith in Christ be being obedient to him in believers baptism.
-The gift of faith in Christ and the ability to believe the true gospel that only comes from God.
-The opportunity to live the gospel before my children.
-Humbling times when I see my sin and am reminded of my need from Christ!
-The wonderful Church we're a part of and their deep desire to see the gospel go out.
-The many avenues at my disposal to learn, be convicted and grow. (God's word, people He's placed around me, books, the internet.)
-Colton's on day three of nap times in his toddler bed and doing really well!
-The much cooler beautiful days we've had lately!
-My sweet, goofy children.
