Independance Day Celebration!

I'm so thankful for this country that we live in! Happy Birthday America!
This 4th of July was unlike any we've experienced in many years! We were for warned that "Lincoln likes to celebrate the 4th" but we were still in for a surprise!! Everything began the evening of the third where we were invited to join the O family at their annual celebration. The food was delicious and lots of visiting went on, then a bunch of people (mostly the guys) loaded up in a few vehicles to head out to a favorite firework vendor. They came back with all kinds of fun exploding "toys" :D. Everyone gathered out front to ooo and aaah at the "show".
Lighting smoke bombs

Chloe really enjoyed the fireworks... not so much the noise.

So bright and loud!

This was another face that Colton made a lot.

Uncle Nathan helped protect the ears.

We realized later that my poor hubby was getting sick, so he got a little less active as the evening went on.

What a blast! Part of the "amazingness" was that it wasn't just our group that decided to shoot things off on the third, it seemed like all of Lincoln was lit up with blasts of fireworks, EVERY WHERE! Even after we got home rather late and went to bed we could hear the sounds of the exploding fireworks on in to the night! And the 4th was no different! We didn't go out anywhere that night cause Brian was still feeling sick but we watched quite a show from our living room. I decided that it had to be similar to what it would sound like if a war was being fought in our backyard. Craziness!
